[Call Meeting to Order]

[00:00:02]

OKAY, FOLKS, WE'RE GOING TO GO AHEAD AND GET STARTED ON THE BUDGET WORKSHOP.

WE'LL CALL THE WORKSHOP TO ORDER THE 14TH DAY OF JUNE 2022, OFFICIALLY AT 11:23.

COMMISSIONERS, COULD I GET A MOTION TO SKIP THE INVOCATION AND PLEDGES? WE HAVE A MOTION. DO WE HAVE A SECOND? SECOND MOTION AND SECOND.

ALL IN FAVOR SAY AYE. AYE.

OPPOSED.

HEARING NONE. MOTION CARRIES ANY ANNOUNCEMENTS? ANY CITIZENS COMMENTS? NOPE. OKAY.

WITH THAT, WE'LL GO AHEAD AND GO TO ITEM ONE BUDGET WORKSHOP.

[1. WORKSHOP: To Discuss proposed department request budget for FY 2023 for the following departments: JP Pct. 2, County Extension Agent Office, Veteran Service Office (VSO), County Treasure, Human Resources (HR), Elections, County Court at Law, JP Pct. 4, District Judge, JP Pct. I, Auditor, JP Pct. 3, Purchasing, Constable Pct. 4, Non- Departmental.]

COMMISSIONER SHELTON WAS JUST COMMENTING AND I AGREE WITH THERE ARE SOME OF THESE SOME OF THESE ITEMS DID NOT GET TO THE COMMISSIONERS VERY QUICKLY BECAUSE WE'VE BEEN HAVING THESE THINGS RIGHT UP TO AND AFTER WE HAD TO POST THIS THING.

AND SO I JUST WANT TO DRIVE HOME THAT THAT ANYTHING.

IF YOU GO GO BACK HOME, COMMISSIONERS AND START REVIEWING THESE THINGS AND YOU SEE SOMETHING.

JUST LET US KNOW AND WE'LL BRING THEM BACK FOR FOR UPCOMING WORKSHOPS.

WE'VE GOT A COUPLE MORE.

SO WITH THAT SAID, I KNOW THAT I'M GOING TO GO AHEAD AND LET JUDGE MOLINA COME UP.

SHE WANTS TO TALK TO US ABOUT AN EXTRA PERSON.

AND I WANT TO BE RESPECTFUL OF HER TIME BECAUSE SHE SHE CARVED OUT A CHUNK OF HER DAY TO COME HERE.

SO WE'LL LET YOU GO FIRST.

I WISH YOU HAD A BIGGER.

CAN YOU PULL THAT DOWN A LITTLE BIT, JUDGE? I THINK IT'S NOT ON MAYBE.

I THINK THAT YOU GOT PLENTY OF HELP THERE.

THANK YOU. I APPRECIATE THAT.

OKAY. I APPRECIATE YOU GIVING ME THE TIME TO COME HERE TODAY TO THIS WORKSHOP.

I KNOW THAT THE LAST TIME WE DISCUSSED THAT WE SHOULD REVISIT THE ASSISTANT COURT ADMINISTRATOR'S POSITION THAT THAT THE STATUTE THAT I HAD QUOTED LAST TIME UNDER GOVERNMENT CODE 70, CHAPTER 74, THAT THE LOCAL ADMINISTRATIVE JUDGES WOULD BE ABLE TO CREATE THE APPROPRIATE STAFF AND PERSONNEL SUPPORT STAFF.

AND THE I THINK THE ISSUE WAS BASICALLY BECAUSE COMMISSIONERS COURT CAN SET THE SALARY FOR THIS ADDITIONAL PERSON, BUT THE STATUTE ALLOWS THE COURT TO CREATE THE POSITION AND THE COMMISSIONERS COURT WOULD SET THE SALARY FOR THE ASSISTANT COURT COORDINATOR. AND SO I'M ASKING THE THE COMMISSIONERS COURT TO THEN YOU SET THE SALARY FOR THIS EXTRA PERSON THAT I AM ASKING FOR. NOW, JUDGE, I KNOW THAT YOU WANTED ME TO COME BACK WITH SOME SOME TYPE OF NUMBERS AS TO THE NUMBER OF CASES THAT MAYBE THE COUNTY COURT AT LAW HAS. WHEN WHEN I RAN SOME REPORTS, I KNOW THAT THE IN THE YEAR 2020 987 CASES HAD BEEN SET IN THIS YEAR FROM JANUARY ONE THROUGH THE CURRENT DATE, WE ALREADY HAVE 978 CASES AND WE'RE NOT EVEN HALFWAY THROUGH THE YEAR WELL WE'RE ALREADY HALFWAY THROUGH THE YEAR, BUT THAT CAN JUST TELL YOU THAT WE HAVE SO MANY MORE DOCKETS NOW.

AND AND IT'S NOT JUST CRIMINAL DOCKETS.

I HAVE JUVENILE CASES.

AND OF COURSE, THE JUVENILE CASES, WE CAN'T DIVULGE CERTAIN INFORMATION, BUT WE HAD 123 CASES THAT HAVE BEEN RESOLVED.

AND IN GUARDIANSHIP CASES, WE HAVE ABOUT 26.

AND THOSE ARE THE ONES THAT SOMETIMES HAVE A LOT OF MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS AND THEY'RE EMERGENCIES.

AND AS I STATED TO THE COURT LAST TIME, WHEN I'M IN, I'M ON THE BENCH AND MY COURT ADMINISTRATORS IN THE COURTS AS WELL.

SOMETIMES WE NEED THAT EXTRA PERSON TO AT LEAST BE ASSISTING THE COUNTY COURT AT LAW.

WE ONLY HAVE ONE KIND OF COURT AT LAW AT THIS TIME, AND I'M TRYING TO SAVE THE COUNTY FROM HAVING TO CREATE A SECOND COUNTY COURT AT LAW.

I KNOW A LOT OF OTHER COUNTIES HAVE MULTITUDE NUMBERS OF COUNTY COURTS AT LAW, BUT RIGHT NOW I AM HANDLING ALL OF THE DOCKETS AND AND ALL I'M ASKING IS BECAUSE THIS POSITION IS SORELY NEEDED.

AND UNDER THE STATUTE, I KNOW THAT THAT THAT THE COUNTY COURT LAW CAN CREATE THAT POSITION.

BUT IT'S UP TO THE COMMISSIONERS COURT TO SET THE AMOUNT.

SO I KNOW THAT LAST TIME I WAS ASKING FOR EITHER 39 OR 40,000, AND IF THAT'S TOO MUCH FOR THE COMMISSIONERS COURT, WHAT IS THEN THE AMOUNT THAT YOU'RE LOOKING AT? BECAUSE WE'RE ENTERING INTO A NEW BUDGET.

AND SO I WANT TO WORK WITH THE COUNTY SO THAT WE CAN RUN A VERY EFFICIENT COURTS AND I'M ABLE TO HANDLE ALL THE DOCKETS.

[00:05:06]

I KNOW THAT I BROUGHT ALL THESE DOCKETS, BUT I CAN'T JUST GIVE ALL THESE MULTIPLE NUMBER OF CASES TO YOU.

I THINK. I THINK JUST THE NUMBERS GOOD ENOUGH.

YEAH, THAT WAS. YEAH, THAT WAS THAT WAS BENEFICIAL.

THAT WAS JUST THAT WAS WHAT I WAS TRYING TO TRYING TO LET THE COURT SEE IS HOW MANY CASES YOU HAD AND HOW MANY CASES YOU NOW HAVE.

RIGHT. GOING FORWARD, YOU KNOW, JUST JUST TO SORT OF JUSTIFY THE NEED SO THAT SO COMMISSIONERS, YOU KNOW, OBVIOUSLY WE'RE NOT VOTING ON ANYTHING TODAY, BUT IF WE DO NEED TO SET A SALARY.

WHAT WAS WHAT WAS THE.

I FORGIVE ME, JUDGE.

I DON'T RECALL WHAT WAS WHAT WAS THE SALARY LAST TIME YOU WERE REQUESTING FOR THE POSITION? I HAD ASKED FOR 39,000.

BUT WHEN WE SUBMITTED THE THE ACTUAL BUDGET WORKSHEET THAT I SUBMITTED TO THE AUDITOR'S OFFICE AND TO THE COUNTY JUDGE AND THE STAFF, I THINK I HAD ASKED FOR 40,000.

I KNOW THE COST OF LIVING IS GOING UP, BUT I JUST WANTED TO START AT AN EVEN ROUND NUMBER THAT WE CAN ALL WORK WITH.

BUT I'M GOING TO LET THE COMPENSATION BE IN THE COMMISSIONER'S HANDS.

WE HAD THIS WE HAD THIS POSITION, I THINK, IN OUR PRELIMINARY BUDGETS LAST YEAR, AND IT WAS WE DID HAVE IT IN THE PRELIMINARY.

AND THEN DUE TO THE MONEY ISSUES, WE WE ELIMINATED IT, WHICH THE JUDGE AGREED TO.

BUT SHE'S NOW BACK ASKING FOR IT.

SHE HAS AN INCREASE IN CASES, YOU KNOW, AND AS SHE SAID, STATUTORILY SHE CAN CREATE THE POSITION AND WE CAN SET THE SALARY.

SO. WELL, YEAH.

SO THE THE STATUTE INTERPLAY FOR ASSISTANT COURT COORDINATORS IS THAT THE JUDGE CAN CREATE THE POSITION AND THE COURT WOULD SET THE SALARY FOR IT.

YES. THE EXPECTATION, OF COURSE, IS THAT THERE'S INTERPLAY AND COMPROMISE BETWEEN THE TWO BODIES.

RIGHT. YES, SIR. SO THAT'S WHERE WE'RE AT RIGHT NOW.

SO, YEAH. SO, COMMISSIONERS, I MEAN, 40,000 FOR THIS PERSON IS THE REQUEST.

AND AND SO I GUESS WHAT WHAT DIRECTION I'M LOOKING FOR IS THAT Y'ALL ARE OKAY WITH THAT OR LOOKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT SO THAT 40, JUDGE IS IT INCLUDE ALL OF THE THE.

NO NO NO THESE THESE SO THE THE SALARY ITSELF IS NOT A WRAP SALARY.

IN OTHER WORDS, THAT DOESN'T CALCULATE IN [INAUDIBLE] WITHHOLDING INSURANCE BENEFITS EASILY.

YOU CAN MULTIPLY THAT BY ABOUT 1.4, AND THAT GIVES YOU PRETTY CLOSE TO WHAT THE ACTUAL COST OF THAT EMPLOYEE IS TO THE COUNTY.

AND I THINK WITH THE DOCKET SHE HAS, SHE'S ALREADY GOING TO BE DOUBLED.

WE CAN SEE THAT NUMBER.

IF SHE CAN DO THIS FOR 40,000, WE'RE BETTER OFF.

I MEAN, WE'RE TO THE PLUS SIDE INSTEAD OF HAVING TO SEARCH AND GET ANOTHER COUNTY COURT OF LAW JUDGE AND AND EVERYTHING ELSE, IF SHE THINKS SHE CAN MAKE IT WORK WITH JUST ONE MORE EMPLOYEE AND KEEP THE PACE.

YEAH. AND I THINK FOR US, YOU KNOW, THAT'S THE QUESTION.

WHAT'S THE SALARY GOING TO BE? THAT'S OUR OUR JOB AT HAND.

SO, JUDGE, HOW MANY HAVE YOU HAVE YOU'VE HAD ALL OF YOUR MEETINGS WITH ALL OF THE OFFICES LISTED HERE? YES, WE'VE MET WITH ALL THESE OFFICES.

AND REALLY, JUDGE MOLINA'S IS THE ONLY ONE WHERE WE WERE KIND OF, YOU KNOW, A LITTLE BIT HUNG UP ON ON THIS ISSUE.

AND SO WHILE WE WERE VISITING DURING HER BUDGET MEETING, I SAID IT WOULD BE REALLY HELPFUL FOR ME TO MAKE A DECISION IF I HAD A COMPARISON OF WHAT YOUR DOCKET WAS LAST YEAR VERSUS WHAT IT IS THIS YEAR.

AND I MEAN, OBVIOUSLY, SHE'S GOT MORE CASES.

SO I'M NOT A YOU KNOW, I'M NOT SAYING ANYTHING BAD OR ANYTHING ABOUT THE NUMBER AT 40.

WHAT I WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO I GUESS WHAT I'M TRYING TO ROLL IT AROUND IN MY HEAD OF HOW MANY EMPLOYEES WE CURRENTLY HAVE THAT MAKE LESS THAN THAT AND HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THE COUNTY AND I JUST TRYING TO BE EQUITABLE IN ALL FRONTS.

YEAH IT'S VARIES WIDELY ACROSS DEPARTMENT.

YEAH IT'S, IT'S THERE'S PEOPLE HERE THAT HAVE BEEN HERE 20 YEARS THAT MAKE IN THE THIRTIES.

YEAH. ONE OF THOSE WE, WE CORRECTED DURING THE BUDGET CYCLE AND YOU'LL SEE THAT REFLECTED IT WAS AND THEN BECAUSE IT BECAME YOU KNOW NONE OF US I DON'T THINK ANY OF US WERE AWARE THAT THEY'VE BEEN HERE AS LONG AS THEY HAD.

AT LEAST I WASN'T THAT THEY'D BEEN HERE AS LONG AS THEY HAD AND HAD HAD VERY MINIMAL RAISES AFTER 20 YEARS STILL MAKING IN THE THIRTIES AND THAT DIDN'T SEEM APPROPRIATE.

SO BUT YOU ALSO GOT TO CONSIDERING THE FACTOR IN AS WELL IS THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE UNDER THE FORTIES IS THE COST OF LIVING.

[00:10:05]

OH, I KNOW. AND THAT'S WHAT I'M TRYING TO.

THAT'S WHAT I'M. AND WE'LL GET INTO THAT.

AND JUST SINCE YOU BROUGHT IT UP, COMMISSIONER, I THINK NOW'S A GOOD TIME TO TELL EVERYONE THAT THAT WHEN WE'RE ON THIS BUDGET CYCLE, THE SALARIES THAT YOU'RE SEEING, WE'RE CONSIDERING A 5% INCREASE.

COST OF LIVING IS NOW SITTING AT 8.6.

IN THE PAST, WE'VE DONE THREE.

BUT THE ACROSS THE BOARD THAT'S THAT'S WHY YOU'LL SEE OVER AND OVER 5% 5% BECAUSE THAT'S THAT'S WHAT WHAT YOU'RE FACTORING INTO THE BUDGET.

SO, I MEAN, I KNOW YOU HAVE A MUCH BETTER IDEA ON THIS, AT THIS POINT TO LEAVE IT AT THAT RATE RIGHT NOW COMMISSIONER [INAUDIBLE] THAT'S LIKE WHAT JUDGE SAID A LITTLE UNDER 60 GRAND FOR THE ENTIRE COST OF THE POSITION OF.

YEAH, BECAUSE YOU COULD SEE IF YOU LOOK DOWN THROUGH THERE, IT'S GOT LONGEVITY PHONE STIPEND AND ALL THOSE THINGS ARE THEN ADDED BACK TO THAT SALARY.

SO I JUST WANT TO LET COMMISSIONERS KNOW TOO THAT FOR THIS TYPE OF POSITION, IT WOULD YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE MOST QUALIFIED AND TO BE ABLE TO RETAIN SOMEONE AND KEEP THEM HERE IN THE COUNTY AT THAT LEVEL.

I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AS TO THE AMOUNTS THAT COULD VARY BETWEEN, SAY, 37,000 UP TO 57,000.

AND I JUST DECIDED I'M GOING TO START A LITTLE LOWER END.

SO THAT'S WHY WE APPRECIATE I HAD SAID 39, 40,000.

AND I AND I'M NOT SAYING THAT THAT 40 IS A IS, YOU KNOW, TOO HIGH AND END OF THE WORLD.

ALL I'M TRYING TO KEEP IN MIND, I'M JUST TRYING TO BE EQUITABLE TO I THINK TO SOME OF THE IT'S REALLY HARD TO JUST SAY BECAUSE YOU'VE GOT DIFFERENT SKILL SETS FOR DIFFERENT POSITIONS.

AND SO THE SALARIES ARE BASED UPON SKILL SETS REQUIRED.

AND SO IT'S REAL HARD TO SAY, YOU KNOW, TO PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN HERE FOR TEN YEARS SHOULD MAKE THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY BECAUSE THEY'RE, YOU KNOW, YOU CAN HAVE TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SKILL SETS THERE.

SO IT'S NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO TO TO JUST GO THROUGH AND BRING EVERYBODY UP TO 40 OR WHATEVER JUST BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN HERE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. I UNDERSTAND.

NO, I'M NOT. I'M WASN'T SAYING THAT BY ANY STRETCH.

I GUESS AT THIS POINT, IT DOESN'T NECESSARILY HURT US TO LEAVE IT AT THAT.

AND I MEAN, I'M I'M COMFORTABLE WITH IT.

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE REST OF YOU ALL, BUT I'M FAIRLY COMFORTABLE.

I'M OKAY LEAVING IT AT THAT.

AND YOU'RE OKAY WITH IT ALREADY? YEAH, WE'RE OKAY.

ALL RIGHT. I'M OKAY. WE'LL LEAVE IT.

WE'LL LEAVE IT AT THAT AND ROLL THAT INTO THE BUDGET AND.

ALL RIGHT. AND THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I APPRECIATE IT. THANK YOU, JUDGE.

APPRECIATE YOU BRINGING THOSE NUMBERS.

I KNOW THAT TOOK YOU A WHILE AND THANK YOU FOR CARVING OUT TIME TODAY.

SHE HAD A VERY BUSY DAY AND MANAGED TO MAKE IT.

SO WE APPRECIATE YOU.

ALL RIGHT. WELL, WE'LL WE'RE GOING TO I'M GOING TO GO THROUGH THESE THINGS PRETTY QUICK.

ANGELA IS SHE'S GOING TO GO BACK AND WORK ON HERS AFTER AFTER OUR AGENDA ITEM.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THE COUNTY TREASURER OTHER THAN THAT? I THINK, COMMISSIONER SHELTON, TO YOUR POINT, IF YOU WOULD LIKE, WE CAN CUT THIS ONE SHORT, GIVE EVERYBODY TIME TO REVIEW THESE AND GET GET THE OTHERS TO YOU AS QUICKLY AS WE CAN. WE CAN, EVEN AS WE HAVE THE MEETING, START SENDING THEM TO YOU GUYS.

AND I THINK THAT WOULD BE IN THAT WAY.

YOU'VE GOT A LITTLE TIME TO REVIEW.

IT'D BE GOOD FOR GOOD FOR ANGELA TO HAVE TIME TO GET THAT REQUEST.

YEAH. SHE'S GONNA HAVE TO HAVE THAT TIME.

SO IF YOU GUYS WANT TO, WE CAN KIND OF CUT THIS ONE SHORT.

WE'LL CONTINUE OUR MEETINGS AND COME BACK.

AND THEN AS WE HAVE OUR MEETINGS, NOT JUST THIS PACKETS.

CAN YOU DO THAT, CHRISTIANA? I THINK I'M COMMITTING YOU GUYS TO SOMETHING AND DIDN'T ASK IF YOU CAN HANDLE THAT.

WE'LL SHOOT THEM OUT TO YOU AS WE GO.

AND THEN THAT WAY YOU'VE GOT A LITTLE MORE TIME TO LOOK.

I THINK THAT WOULD BE GREAT THAT, YOU KNOW, IT'S REALLY HARD WHEN SOMEBODY COMES UP AND HAND YOU A PACKET AND THEY WANT YOU TO LOOK AT IT AND MAKE A DECISION.

YOU JUST CAN'T DO THAT.

WELL, AFTER YOU SAID THAT TOO, I THOUGHT, WELL, THAT'S NOT YOU KNOW, THAT'S REALLY NOT FAIR.

SO I'M GOOD WITH IF YOU GUYS WANT TO GO AHEAD AND MOVE FOR ADJOURNMENT.

NOW, WE'LL BRING EXCEPT FOR JUDGE MOLINA'S, WHICH WE JUST DID, WE'LL BRING THESE BACK.

AND PLUS, WE'LL GO AHEAD.

AND AS WE HAVE BUDGET MEETINGS GOING FORWARD, WE'VE GOT QUITE A FEW SCHEDULED OVER THE NEXT WEEK AND A HALF OR SO, AND WE'LL JUST START SHOOTING THEM OUT TO YOU AS WE GO ONCE. BUT IT'S GOING TO IT WON'T BE LIKE REAL TIME BECAUSE WE HAVE THEM.

AND THEN AS HE'S GOT TO HAVE TIME TO GET THEM IN.

QUICK QUESTION. WE TRY TO DO THEM ON THE FLY.

ON OUR NEXT BUDGET, PER OUR BUDGET CALENDAR WORKSHOP'S GOING TO BE IN JULY.

DID YOU WANT TO HAVE ONE NEXT COMMISSIONERS COURT IN JUNE.

YES. TO REVIEW THIS.

OKAY. I'D SAY PROBABLY SO.

I'M, I'M FINE WITH THAT.

IT'S KIND OF A AS YOU GO METHODOLOGY.

[00:15:01]

I WOULD MY ONLY QUESTION IS, WAS THERE ANYTHING ELSE OF NOTE THAT NEEDED TO BE.

NO, NOT NOT NOT THAT I CAN RECALL.

THERE'S NOTHING I THINK PRESSING FOR AND YOU'LL SEE IT WHEN YOU LOOK AT THERE'S CONSTABLE ASK FOR ANOTHER POSITION BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN PICKING UP A LOT OF DUTIES FROM THE SO AND FROM FROM OTHER COUNCIL OFFICES THAT ARE HAVING THAT HAVE BEEN VERY SHORTHANDED.

SO THAT'S SOMETHING WE'LL HAVE TO CONSIDER.

THAT'S THAT'S A LITTLE OUT OF THE NORM.

THAT'S PAGE 17.

AND THEN I THINK THAT'S ABOUT THE ONLY THE ONLY REAL, REAL BIG DEAL THING I CAN THINK OF.

OH, IN THE ELECTIONS WE, WE WENT AHEAD AND WHERE I THINK WE'RE CONVERTING A PART TIME TO FULL TIME BECAUSE OF ALL THE NEW ELECTION RULES THAT THEY HAVE.

YEAH. IF YOU HAVEN'T, IF YOU HAVEN'T LOOKED AT THAT STATUTE AND COMPARED IT TO THE ONE THAT THEY USED TO HAVE TO OPERATE UNDER, YOU'LL SEE WHY IT WAS IT'S A IT'S THE [INAUDIBLE] I'LL JUST SAY THAT THE LEGISLATURE AND THE SECRETARY OF STATE DIDN'T DO THE COUNTIES ANY FAVORS.

AND SO IT'S GOTTEN A LOT HARDER.

SO THERE'S THAT ONE AND THAT'S REALLY ABOUT ALL I CAN THINK OF RIGHT OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD, BUT YOU'LL HAVE TIME TO REVIEW THEM.

AND IF I'M NOT THINKING OF SOMETHING WHICH IS ENTIRELY POSSIBLE, WE CAN TALK ABOUT IT WHEN WE GET THERE AND BE COOKING THAT.

SO JUST SO YOU KNOW, JUST SO THIS IS IN THE BACK OF YOUR MIND WHILE YOU'RE REVIEWING THIS STUFF WE GOT WITH AD VALOREM TAX, WE HAVE ABOUT $2 MILLION DOLLARS MORE THIS YEAR THAN LAST YEAR.

HOWEVER, THE RAISE, THE 5% RAISE AND THAT INSURANCE INCREASE, THEY'RE GOING TO GOBBLE UP ABOUT 75% OF THAT.

SO WE'RE LOOKING AT EXTRA AND THEN FUEL AND SO SO THAT REALLY THAT'S NOT A WHOLE LOT MORE.

SO WE'RE REALLY KIND OF WORKING BECAUSE OF INFLATION.

WE'RE GOING TO BE KIND OF WORKING WITH THE SAME NUMBERS THAT WE HAD LAST YEAR, PRETTY MUCH.

SO WE'LL JUST HAVE TO TRY TO DO MORE WITH MORE, WITH LESS AND OUR ABILITY TO EVALUATE. AND I THINK MAYBE YOU'RE DOING THIS ANYWAY, LIKE YOU'LL HAVE THE 5% RAISE INCREASE AND THEN HAVE HAVE A 4%.

WE COULD DO THAT. SO YEAH.

YEAH. AND WHAT, WHAT WE CAN KIND OF DO JUST TO, WE WON'T DO IT LIKE FOR EVERY POSITION BECAUSE CAUSE THAT WOULD BE A HUGE JOB.

BUT WE CAN ONCE WE GET THROUGH THESE THINGS, WE CAN, WE CAN SAY WE CAN LOOK AT LAST YEAR AND SAY A 5% INCREASE WOULD BE THIS MUCH, 4% INCREASE WOULD BE THIS MUCH AND IT WOULD JUST BE COUNTY WIDE, YOU KNOW, WHAT THE ULTIMATE DOLLAR AMOUNT WOULD BE AND WE COULD DO THAT.

YEAH. BECAUSE WE CAN JUST LOOK AT OUR OVERALL PAYROLL NUMBER AND GO THREE, FOUR, FIVE AND OUR OVERALL BENEFITS, THREE OR FOUR OR FIVE AND AND HAVE THAT BREAKDOWN FOR YOU. OKAY.

THAT THAT THAT MAKES SENSE AS YOU'RE LOOKING AT ME LIKE I JUST GREW UP ANOTHER HAT OUT OF MY NECK OR SOMETHING, SO I JUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU'RE OKAY.

I CAN DO THAT. OKAY.

ALL RIGHT. ANYTHING ELSE? OKAY, WELL, WE'LL LOOK.

I'LL LOOK FOR A MOTION TO ADJOURN, AND THEN WE'LL PICK PICK THESE UP IN MORE DETAIL AT THE NEXT BUDGET WORKSHOP, WHICH WILL BE RIGHT AFTER THE NEXT COMMISSIONERS COURT.

WE HAVE A MOTION TO ADJOURN.

DO WE HAVE A SECOND? SECOND? WE HAVE MOTION AND A SECOND.

ALL IN FAVOR SAY AYE.

AYE. OPPOSED. HEARING NONE, MOTION CARRIES.

THANK YOU, COMMISSIONERS.
